waglaccessibility

accessibility

wagl should be easy to use for everyone, including people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, keyboard-only navigation, or captions.

our standard

we aim to meet the web content accessibility guidelines (wcag) 2.2, level aa, published by the w3c. we design and build wagl.com with that standard in mind, and we test new pages and features against it.

where we are

wagl.com is new. we have not yet completed a formal accessibility review of the whole site, so we do not claim that it fully meets wcag 2.2 aa. we are reviewing it before and after launch, and we will update this page with what we find and what we fix.

what we work toward

  • clear, consistent navigation and headings
  • text alternatives for product and editorial images
  • color contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text
  • full keyboard access, with a visible focus indicator that isn't hidden by sticky headers or banners
  • tap targets of at least 24 × 24 css pixels
  • forms with labels, clear error messages, and no need to re-enter information you've already given
  • no time limits on checkout steps we control
  • cookie banner and pop-ups that can be dismissed by keyboard and screen reader
  • captions for video with speech; no autoplaying audio

known limitations

  • checkout is provided by shopify. we rely on shopify's accessibility work for checkout pages.
  • third-party content, such as embedded reviews, payment widgets, and retailer sites you reach through affiliate links, is not controlled by wagl.
