what cookies are
cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. similar technologies include pixels, local storage, and sdks. we call all of them "cookies" here.
how wagl uses them
| category | what they do | can you turn them off? |
|---|---|---|
| essential | keep your bag, run checkout, keep the site secure, remember your cookie choices | no, the site needs them to work |
| preferences | remember settings such as region or currency | yes |
| analytics | help us understand which pages and products are useful, in aggregate | yes |
| marketing | measure our ads, show wagl ads on other sites, and attribute affiliate referrals | yes |
affiliate links. when you click a "shop at" link to a retailer, the retailer or its affiliate network may set its own cookies on its own site so it can credit wagl with the referral. those cookies are governed by that retailer's or network's policy.
skimlinks. wagl uses skimlinks, an affiliate service, to turn links to retailers into affiliate links. its script runs on wagl.com only when marketing cookies are allowed: in the uk and eu/eea after you agree, and in the us by default unless you opt out or your browser sends a global privacy control signal. skimlinks may set cookies and collect technical data (such as your ip address, browser and the page you clicked from) to record the referral. see skimlinks' privacy policy.
your choices
- uk and eu/eea visitors: we only set non-essential cookies after you agree in our cookie banner. you can say no to all non-essential cookies as easily as you can say yes.
- us visitors: we may use analytics and marketing cookies by default. you can opt out at any time via cookie preferences in the footer or your privacy choices. we treat a global privacy control signal from your browser as an opt-out.
- everyone: change your choices at any time from cookie preferences in the footer. you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site (like your bag) may stop working.
